Destin Beach Vacay: Day Two

Day 2 started early--as usual. We went to breakfast and immediately started our sun-filled fun.

First stop: beach. Luckily the water was clearer (less seaweeds). However, it was rough. Mallory was not allowed to get in alone. Daniel barely got in but I tightly held her hand. They were a couple of waves that would have easily pulled her under if it weren't for me. She liked the roughness but understood the need to remain close.

We spent most of the day in the pool. Our hotel had 2 different pools. The beach front pool was family oriented. It was relatively shallow, which meant Mallory was able to touch bottom in nearly section. This is the pool that became our "hang out."

After a few hours of swimming, we took a 2 hour nap. All of us needed the nap. Another beach trip followed the nap with pool time as our last swimming activity for the day.

During evening pool fun, we had very special visitors. Papa Don and Grandma Ann came! Papa wore shorts for the occasion--the first time since 2000. He is as white as my mom and Steve! He swam with Mallory and hung around the pool with us for about an hour.

We all went to dinner at Cheeseburger Paradise, a restaurant owned by Jimmy Buffet. It was really good. Mallory got tacos, Daniel got chicken quesadillas, and I got chicken. To start, we ordered onion straws that were awesome.
