Day 3: Lake Lure and Chiminey Rock

Do you know what is special about Lake Lure?  Think movies.  Think Patrick Swayze.  Think Jennifer Grey.  Get it?  Yep, it is the lake where they shot Dirty Dancing.  The area was beautiful but we got rained out during the afternoon.

We enjoyed the "beach".  MK loved playing in the water and Mallory chilled next to her Papa.  Daniel, Gary, and I paddle boarded. 

After a few hours at the beach, we ate lunch. 

Next, Mallory and Papa returned home and me, Daniel, Gary, and MK drove around Chimney Rock.  We visited the inn where the cast and crew stayed.  Additionally, we had planned on taking a pontoon boat tour of the areas where they filmed.........but bad weather prevented this!
