Beach Vacation 2015

As many of you know, we visited Daytona Beach for a few days.  We left on Monday, June 1 and returned on Friday, June 5.  We stayed at the Wyndham Ocean Walk Resort.  We chose Daytona Beach for its location.  Specifically, it was several hours closer than Clearwater Beach.  We stayed at this resort because the Raulerson's highly recommended it as well as a few other friends.  Additionally, it has several pools and is centrally located.

We will NEVER return to Daytona Beach (unless someone else pays) and we will NEVER stay at this resort again.  The beach was okay--for the 8-10 minutes that I saw of it--but the town was run down.  The pier/boardwalk area was dingy and we didn't find any good restaurants.

The resort over charged us by $393.38.  This overage fee was withdrawn from our account on June 4, the day before we were to leave.  It took several hours to recoup the money and to correct the mistake.  As a courtesy, the resort gave us a $50  credit.  Well............the poolside bar and grill was closed that day due to repairs and the eatery was closed on Friday morning.  As a result, were unable to use the credit on food.  We used it on alcohol and smoothies for Mal.

Here are the two pictures that were taken at the beach.  Like I said, we stayed maybe 10 minutes.  During the 10 minutes, Mallory was continually asking, "Can we go back?"  And no, Molly Kate did not see the beach.  It was just Mal and me.
