On April 30, Wacona Elementary School took all of it's fourth graders to SeaWorld in Orlando, FL. Obviously, we cannot allow Mallory go without one of her parents. So Mallory and I awoke at 4:15 am, met everyone at the school at 5:00 am. Our journey at SeaWorld started at 5:30 AM. We arrived in the park around 11:15 am. I volunteered to be a chaperone. Two other girls joined our group. Each child had a book bag. Therefore, I was unable to take many pictures because I was holding several book bags most of the time!
The kids had a great time! The two girls have never been to SeaWorld so we mostly followed their interests. A highlight was feeding the sea lions. I was prepared to buy two trays of food. The gentleman behind us heard me say, "We will each get two turns to feed them." He politely asked if he could jump ahead of us. With nothing better to say, I said, "Sure." He bought 4 extras for us. We each got to feed the sea lions four times! I love random acts of kindness. I was truly touched by this gesture.
We got home around 11:00 pm. As soon as we left SeaWorld, my monster was STARVING. I took her to Cracker Barrel, her favorite restaurant. She ate like a HOG and did not wake up until we were in our driveway.
Very pleased with the day. Everyone had a great time, no one got hurt, and I survived!
That sound like a long (but fun) day. I'm glad you were able to go with Mallory.
