Thank you all of the veterans. I have many family members that served, including my grandfathers and parents. I also have friends that served, Kristina (BFF #3) and Carrie Boatright, another close friend.
Yesterday started out as being a terrible day. Mallory spilled steaming hot grits into her lap. She was wearing a thin summer dress so the grits easily burned her legs and belly. Based on her screams and dance moves, she was in pain! I am just so glad that it didn't warrant a trip to the ER. It did cause us to cancel with Lealane. We were going to crash their annual picnic. Maybe next year!!
A couple of hours later, Mallory started feeling antsy. She was ready to go! Daniel volunteered to drive us to one of my favorite restaurants, Sal's Pizzeria. I LOVE their pizza, breadsticks, and their cheese sticks. Most importantly, they have awesome dessert! Mallory and I enjoyed our own gelato. We both got vanilla.
After our lunch, it was time for Mallory's horseback riding lesson. This was our second lesson. The first lesson, Mallory picked out a horse. She chose Summer, who is very beautiful. Now, she is learning how to care for her. The first step: grooming, specifically, brushing her. Mallory is still leery but stepped up close to brush her hair. I am so proud of her. I cannot wait to see her sitting atop.
