Hearing Exams

Didn't really go well. Mallory's loss has significantly increased.  They removed a large amount of ear wax--the size of my thumb nail--from each ear.  She also also has a lot of fluid in each ear.  She is getting too old to retain fluid and and her adenoids and a connected tube may be the reason.  She also has a cyst in right ear.  The cyst is in the ear canal, extremely close to the ear drum.

The removal of the cyst will be outpatient treatment and if the fluid in ears do not clear up, adenoid removal will be included.  We go back in 2 weeks to see if the antibiotics will help with the fluids.

Disappointing news.  I work with families everyday who have worse problems.  I feel lucky but I also still get very depressed. This stuff just never ends.
