Today I met with Mallory's "educational" team. Overall, I was pleased with the outcome. Mallory will receive 30 minutes per day on a computer program, called Fast ForWord, its a brain stimulation program. I'm not sure if I buy into it but I was happy with the small group instruction for the math remediation. I was really worried that they were going to lump her into another group and assign another computer program.
We are really lucky. We have a good teacher. Her name is Mrs. Brasington, she is experienced and has a true desire to help.
Tomorrow will be a long work day and Wednesday we go to NeMours to have Mallory's eyes checked. NeMours is in Jacksonville, Fl. Thursday I have an all day training, and Friday I will be making home visits. Ugh! At least I have a job. It could be worse, I could be a teacher!
We use Fast ForWord at our school. I don't know a lot about it, but I know our SPED department likes it and thinks it is effective. Let me know what you think after a couple of months.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that Mallory has an understanding teacher. This is going to be a GOOD year!
