I think we all had the Monday Blues. None of us were prepared when our alarms rang, especially Daniel. He had to get up at an ungodly hour.
Mallory of course, successfully and happily pulled it off. I have recently noticed several things about her:
1) She really likes going to school and I think she really likes her new teacher.
2) She is reading very well. I am amazed at the words she can decode. She is using context, pictures, and previous pages to pull the story together.
3) I think she genuinely likes to read. She asks to read and is always looking for new or "forgotten" books.
4) She is growing! I started calling her "legs" today. Her feet are also long. Not sure where that came from--def not me!
Mallory will resume tutoring on Wednesday (please take note Becky). She will be coming twice a week. Mallory's reading is great but her math stinks! Not sure why.
We have already started making party arrangements. Like always, we will have a big party. Mallory has requested an inflatable water slide in lieu of a big gift. I have ordered her a birthday cake and we are planning to buy party plates and napkins this weekend. Becky, I hope you got your invitation (I tried to send an e-mail but I'm not sure if it went through).
So pleased to hear that Mallory is doing well in school and that you found a tutor. I will check the mail for the invitation.
